“Daughters” Is Quintessential Nas
It’s no secret that Celebterview is Nas’s biggest website fan, so it should come as no surprise that I love his new single “Daughters”. It is quintessential Nas! This song feels like real hip hop, old school and new at the same time. The video lets us into Nas’s actual life, and the karma he feels he is facing for being a lady’s man in his youth. To see Nas as a doting father, a side the public has not yet seen until now is beyond refreshing. The images of him fighting to get through to his daughter the things he himself did not understand in his youth portrays to us a person willing to learn any lesson life has, however hard. Again, gotta love Nas and where he dares to go artistically and as a human being. It feels like you’re hearing a Nas song for the first time.
