Lana Del Ray’s Video for “National Anthem” is fantastic. Period. I love the the entire deconstruction of wasp culture with ASAP Rocky portraying John Kennedy.

But here’s a little American History for your butts: If you didn’t know how extremely bad ass Jackie Kennedy was, here goes.
She was wearing her pink wool suit when her husband was assassinated. He slouched down in her lap when he was shot and he bled on her suit. When the President was declared dead, they put him in a coffin and on Air Force One to go back to Washington, D.C. A change of clothes was made ready for Jackie Kennedy on Air Force one and she refused to change. She reportedly said “Let them see what they have done”.
Upon getting back to Washington D.C., then Vice President Lyndon Johnson was sworn in as President and at the swearing in, Jackie Kennedy still wore the suit bloodied by her husband.
It leaves me speechless. And next time you’re parading around with those cornball sayings of who is a bad bitch, etc, remember what a real woman does.
